Directions: From Interstate 84, take the Franklin Blvd. exit (#36), and head south to 11th Ave. N. Turn right onto 11th Ave. N. Head southwest. After you pass beneath the railroad overpass, take first turn left onto 1st St. S. Go one block. Turn left onto 12th Ave. S. You will see the depot straight ahead of you. Free parking is available at the west end of the building.

The original Canyon County Historical Museum is located in the historic Oregon Short Line Depot in downtown Nampa.
Construction began in 1902 and the depot opened in September of 1903. It served as Nampa's train depot until the Union Pacific depot on the north side of the tracks was completed in the latter part of 1925. This building then served as offices for the Union Pacific.
The building was eventually donated to the Canyon County Historical Society by the Union Pacific Railroad. It was partially restored and converted into a museum by the Canyon County Historical Society and dedicated July 3, 1976.
